Dr Anne Marie Craig is a registered nurse with a passion for education, specifically supporting learners with disabilities.
Having previously worked as a Renal Nurse Educator, Lead Practice Education Facilitator and Lead Nurse for Education, Anne Marie moved from practice education to academia in 2009. These opportunities focused an interest on supporting learners with disabilities in academic and practice settings, leading to Anne Marie becoming Academic Disability Coordinator from 2010.
Anne Marie completed her Doctoral studies in 2018 with a thesis entitled 'An exploration of the concept of reasonable adjustments in pre-registration nursing in Scotland' and is currently disseminating her findings and recommendations while planning future research in the area of learning, teaching and assessment including supporting students with disabilities.
Anne Marie is currently Head of Division for Adult Nursing and Healthcare at the University of the West of Scotland and has introduced a Disability Coordinators Forum for academic colleagues within the School of Health and Life Sciences to share good practice, offer peer support and review existing practices to promote consistency in the identification and implementation of support strategies for learners at university and on practice learning experiences.
